Durango & Silverton Patch 0101

  • This patch adds new files and replaces certain existing files for the D&S route. Updates include:
    • Added a new D&S observation gondola by Larry Goss. Converted gondolas like this one are used in the summertime. Although a roof has been added, they are completely open. Larry's model includes dynamic numbering, passenger characters and a passenger view. Note that when you are in passenger view (5 key) the passengers in your car are not visible. This is normal RailWorks behavior.
    • Added 13 seated and standing characters to be used primarily as train passengers. These characters were obtained from Turbosquid and are included in the route as Incorporated Content under a Standard Royalty Free License.
    • Added the observation gons to each consist in the DtoS series of scenarios and to the Free Roams.
    • Added German-language User Manual, RouteInformation and LocoInformation files.
    • Fixed the "floating caboose" bug, which was caused by improper bounding box values.
    • Fixed a stretch of bad trackwork and terrain mismatches between MP 487–488.
 
  • This is an "overlay" patch. It contains only files that are new or that have been updated. Do not manually delete any files from the original package you received from G-TraX. Many of the original files are still required -- they just don't need to be updated.
 
  • New orders from G-TraX (effective 8 May 2012) already contain the contents of this update and do not need to be patched.

US Steam locomotive Patch 7

  • This patch replaces relevant files for all three Big Steam locomotive packages for compatibility with Train Simulator 2012. Updates include:
    • Projected headlights on locomotives (forward and reverse running) and tenders (reverse-running only).
    • Animated, projected Mars lights (Berkshire and GS-4 only).
    • Interior cab lights. Click on a light bulb (Northern, GS-4) or light switch (Berkshire).
    • Cab view in proper location.
    • Updated cab audio.
    • Updated cab control animations.
    • Updated exterior normal maps.
    • Animated tender coal (Berkshire).
    • Smoke blackening in response to increased tractive effort or over-fueling.
    • Blower steam, all locomotives.
 
  • This is an "overlay" patch. It contains only files that have been updated. Do not manually delete any files from the original package you received from G-TraX or Steam. Many of the original files are still required -- they just don't need to be updated.
 
  • Steam Customers: The contents of this patch have been submitted to RailSimulator.com for inclusion in the next available Steam update. At your option, you can install Patch 7 now or wait a few more days for the automatic update. After the Steam update has taken place you will not need to install Patch 7.
 
  • A separate patch is provided for each of the three Big Steam packs. Each download ZIP is not password protected and contains a single RWP file. Unzip and use the RailWorks Package Manager to install the contents of each RWP file.
 
  • All prior patches (Patch 1 through Patch 6), formerly available on this web page, have been deprecated. The contents of those patches are included in Patch 7. It is recommended that you use the Package Manager to uninstall any the earlier patches before you install Patch 7.
 
  • The patches will permanently update the default locomotives, cabs and tenders for those who obtained the Big Steam products directly from G-TraX. Those who obtained the products through Steam may need to periodically re-install the patch(es) due to Steam updates.
    • If you purchased your locomotive(s) directly from G-TraX, you can download the updates here.
    • If you purchased your locomotive(s) through Steam, they will be automatically updated in accordance with the Steam priority queue.
    • New orders from G-TraX (effective immediately) or Steam (after the automatic update takes place) already contain the updates and will not need to be patched.
   
  Patch 7 for the SP&S 700 pack.
